The son of a truck driver and hailing from the Rust Belt, Joe Klecko played with a hardened, blue-collar ethos. He was willing to play wherever he was needed, and always excelled, notching Pro Bowl selections at all of the major defensive line positions over his 11 year career with the New York Jets. He spearheaded the feared New York Sack Exchange, leading the Jets to four playoff appearances in the early 1980s. Klecko is truly one of the forgotten greats of the league, and next to Reggie White may have been the most versatile defensive lineman to ever play the game.
