It's Friday 7th July and a rare break in the terrible 2023 summer has all the usual suspects rushing to Golden Ball, a small hill on the Marlborough Downs in the south of the UK. We'd set an ambitious 200km goal just before you run out of airspace north of Crewe, and by midday most of us were on our way north...
