Anbernic RG556 Handheld - Gameplay Test - dot Hack: Infection (PS2)

It's time to pull out the RG556 again! Today's game is .hack//Infection - the first game in a four-part series from Bandai released back in 2003 to 2004 (at least for North America). This is a game that has you (the player) playing a simulated MMORPG within the game itself - similar in concept to the Sword Art Online games which came out a decade later on the PSP and other systems. The gameplay here so far is primitive compared to Sword Art Online and later games, but it's an interesting concept and I'm going to see if it hooks me long enough to complete the game and move on to the next title in the series. The game originally came with a DVD featuring an episode of the dot hack OVA. I got my copy used - no box, manual, or OVA disc - so I can't say whether the OVA is good or bad. Hopefully the game's story stands on its own without having to watch the OVA. I'm running this with NetherSX2 (4248) with a minor speed hack on (Hardware Download Mode) and 3X - 1080P - rendering resolution. Plus widescreen hacks since I like to keep black bars off my OLED as much as possible. You'll notice some slowdown in a cutscene - but so far that's about all that I've seen. If problems show up later I might bump the resolution back down to 2X, but I'm leaving it at 3X for now. As always, emulation settings at the end of the (admittedly long this time - but it's a JRPG) video. 0:00 Introduction / Title 1:10 dot Hack Infection gameplay 19:44 Emulator settings
