I had a once-in-a-lifetime experience in Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Nothing beats sitting in silence on the cold grounds of a Ugandan rainforest, just watching a gorilla family as they go about their day, stripping leaves from branches, and observing you in return with their liquid brown eyes. A gorilla trek in Uganda can last anywhere between 2-10 hours and involves hiking through dense vegetation and steep slopes. Mountain gorillas live in high elevation and because of this, you will need plenty of water and a good pair of hiking boots. Bwindi is truly a rainforest! At one point we had to crawl on all fours because it was so slippery.
