Follow The iPhone Archivist on Twitter:   / iphonearchivist   Follow The iPhone Archivist on Instagram:   / theiphonearchivist   This show was advertised by the 9:30 Club as an early show and doors were open at 6 p.m. The opening act, RZN, started at 6:30 and ended a little after 7:15 p.m. Russian Circles took the stage around 7:40 p.m. and ended their set at 9 p.m. With the extra time on my hands, I rushed home to process this video quickly so I could upload it soon afterwards. I'm still kicking myself for not recording RZN. They're from Chicago, too, and I got in a little later than I wanted to. You can thank D.C. rush hour traffic for that! LOL I loved what I heard and am a fan now. RZN were a great opening act and Russian Circles couldn't have chosen a complementary artist for the evening. For this show, I set myself up in the same balcony spot where I recorded my Turnstile video. The drummer was on a riser whose view was blocked by the right speaker array. You can still see him but the obstruction is still there. Again, sorry to all drummers who never get full views in my videos! I carried and used light gear going into this show. I had my iPhone 13 Pro in its plastic case with 17mm lens mounts. I used another wide angle lens to give me the whole span of the stage in my shot--mission accomplished. I used my smaller external mic (Shure MV88) with a lightning extender because it doesn't fit flush against the phone case. Nothing bulky, just simple and easy to assemble/disassemble after shooting. Russian Circles used a lot of lighting and fog effects which played with my phone's autofocus. You can see it get blurry until it fixated on something solid for it to sharpen the picture immediately. The phone went even more berzerk in complete darkness with colored lights! Outside of shooting the band, I shifted my camera leftwards to capture the audience while bobbing their heads in unison to the music and when a small pit appeared. #russiancircles #russiancircleslive #russiancircleslive2022
