My purpose for installing two charges was not because I needed it but because I wanted faster charging. The alternator I have in my vehicle is 220A which would support the auxiliary load draw on this size. Due to the location of the starter battery and the leisure system in my van the cables had to be run full length on the van and I use oversized 50mm² cable because I had it spare. I use a mega fuseholders to split the cable into 16mm squared cable and fuses per charger. 16 mm² in this application is oversized but it was what I had spare off. I have attempted to keep the cable length between both of the charges the exact same to each unit reads the same voltage. Additionally I installed a switch on the dashboard which allows me to turn both of the charges off or run one or both charges are using the remote pins on each Orion unit. Most likely during the summer I will have the second charger off. Whilst I am using a switch to turn the unit on and off. the automatic engine detection is still what allows the unit to charge or not.
