This is the idea I got for the display that would showcase both sides of the Glenfield Marlin 1973 Model 60. A traditional display only showcased a single side , so I had to come up with an idea of how to display both. I knew I wanted to start with a mesquite base, and cap, because I am from Texas and mesquite grows rampant here. Also because the colors are so beautiful. I ended up having to weld, paint, stain, carve and install LED lights. It is not what I first intended, this thing took on a life of its own. I honestly started out blind and just added things as I went along, which made things difficult but it worked out well. It has been a work in progress for at least 3-4 months.
