In the small Principality of Liechtenstein, an almost forgotten grain grows in what is probably the smallest field in the Alps: rebel corn, an old variety of edible maize with light-coloured kernels that was cultivated in the Alpine region for centuries. For the harvest workers, roasted Rebel with apple and elderberry puree is prepared on the field oven, a Liechtenstein speciality. For the post-harvest feast, there is a Rebel corn casserole with vegetables and cheese to go with the roast pasture-raised pig. Annelie's grandson Andrin is 10 years old and the family's baker.
