26 Sonny Stitt Licks Eb

A collection of some of my favourite Major ii-V-I Licks by Sonny Stitt, all played in concert Eb at a relaxed medium-swing tempo. The transcription is transposed for Eb instruments. I've never been much of a 'lick' player, but have started this series to increase my jazz vocabulary, and hope that it will be of some use to others too. Please let me know if you find if you find this at all useful! I've got lots of other licks I could post... Disclaimer: The purpose of this video is to give intermediate jazz students some ideas for creating a jazz language of their own, so I'm not even really attemting to play Stitt's amazing articulations etc.... you should buy and listen to his albums on repeat if you really want to master his phrasing and style.
