Part 1 on how to lay sheet vinyl in a bus This episode we cut out a section of the bus to install the hot water system. We used a grinder and this did the job. After removing the heater hose, we had some 25 mil holes we needed to patch up. We used a bit of timber and had to use a metal tec screw with a cup head, as the waterproofing under the bus was a bit difficult to work with. We patched the holes inside with some putty and sanded it back. The vinyl we used was a sheet, we got 11m x 3 meters so we had to cut it to size. We hot this from a factory seconds place near Sydney. Cutting this vinyl was not to hard but a bit tricky to get it right. With the vinyl we are ment to leave a 50-70 mil overhang, we did not do this. The glue we got, fast grip did not work, it didn't stick at all, we tried half the bus at a time, then decided to glue the back half of the bus each side, then decided to go with tape for the front of the bus and this seemed to work better. Two years on and with the furniture we have and seats ect we haven't had any issues yet lol. The people at bunnings are not trades people just be aware, Working with your partner can be hard, but worth it.
