Steam Linux App now available on the Chromebook Stable Channel

A few months ago I did a video on how you can install the Steam Linux App that is currently in beta on your Chromebook. To do this you had to change your Chromebook to the beta channel. Not everyone wants to do this, as it means wiping your Chromebook when you go back to the stable channel. The good news is you can now install the Steam Linux App on the Stable channel on your Chromebook. The Steam Linux App itself is still in beta, but it's now far simpler to install the Steam Linux App now that you don't need to switch channels. Perfect for anyone who did not want to change their Chromebook from the stable channel to the beta channel. I was very surprised with how easy it now is to install the Steam Linux App on the ChromeOS Stable channel. You still need to enable a ChromeOS flag, but that's easy to do and I'll show you how to do that in this video. Once I installed Steam on the Chromebook stable channel I wanted to ensure it all worked ok. To show this in the video I installed a game after Steam was installed on my Chromebook. Again, I was really happy to see the game installed absolutely fine, and I was able to play the game without any issues. If you love gaming on your Chromebook and were put off installing the Steam Linux app because you needed to change to the beta channel. Then this video is definitely for you. Remember, only a selected number of Chromebooks will run the Steam Linux App. Essentially, you need a pretty powerful Chromebook. However, it's great to see the Steam Linux app can now be installed without changing channels. You do need to install Linux on your Chromebook first before following the instructions in this video.
