Lomomatic 110 Review

AD/ANZEIGE In this episode, Jules and I review the Lomomatic 110, a brand-new Lomography premium pocket camera for the 110 film format. The camera comes in two versions: a colorful plastic version and a more elegant edition made of metal which we have here. It is directed at amateurs and prosumers who would like to explore this special film format. In terms of portability, these 110 pocket cameras are impossible to beat - so it is an ideal camera to always carry around and capture day-to-day events. The 110 format was introduced by Kodak in 1972. Each frame is 13x17mm and comes with one registration hole. The entire film has a backing paper with continuous numbering of the frames which often can be seen through the backs of the cameras. Cartridges from Lomography allow you to shoot 24 frames and there is no need to rewind them. Once you are done, you can send them to selected labs for processing. The negatives are obviously tiny but with the right camera and scanner, you can get pretty good results out of them.  Lomography helped bring the format back in 2012 and since then expanded the available film stock to include a black and white film and various interesting color films. So from a strategic perspective, it only makes sense to offer more cameras supporting the 110 format themselves as they are the only manufacturer of 110 cartridges currently out there.  Jules and I took the new Lomomatic 110 out for a photo walk shooting some Tiger color negative and Orca black and white films around the Olympic Park and an artist, theater and crafts area around Leonrodplatz in Munich.
