Hitler's Eagle's Nest Germany aka Kehlsteinhaus is situated in the Berchtesgaden National Park. The Kehlsteinhaus tour is one of the most popular things to do in Berchtesgaden. The Eagle's Nest Germany (Kehlsteinhaus), is a Nazi-constructed building erected atop the summit of the Kehlstein mountain, a rocky outcrop that rises above Obersalzberg near the German town of Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps. It was used exclusively by members of the Nazi Party for government and social meetings. It was visited on 14 documented instances by Adolf Hitler. Today, it is open seasonally as a restaurant, beer garden, and tourist site. Due to its high elevation, the Eagle’s Nest generally can’t open until mid-May and closes in October. The Eagle's Nest road is closed to the general public except by way of the special Kehlsteinhaus bus that takes visitors up to a viewing platform from where the 124 metre long Kehlsteinhaus tunnel leads to the brass Kehlsteinhaus elevator which takes you up the last 124 meters of elevation and into the Eagle's Nest.
