Yang Style Tai Chi: Extended Comparisons of Yang Chengfu Disciples (ft. Yang Sau Chung)

This is a second video comparing four students of Yang Chengfu, practitioners of Yang Style Tai Chi: Clockwise from top left: Fu Zhongwen, Dong Yingjie, Yang Shouzhong (Yang Sau Chung/Yang Zhenming), and Zheng Manqing (Cheng Man Ching). It is in some ways an improved version of the first:    • Yang Chengfu: Comparisons of Four Dis...   which contained Yang Zhenduo instead of Yang Shouzhong. There are several reasons for this change: YZD was already featured, and his form is fairly similar in appearance to FZW (in my opinion); YSZ also learned from his father YCF for a longer period of time, yet despite this, his lineage seems to be fairly uncommon and worthy of observation. You can see this video as comparing forms from lineages other than the "mainstream" Yang Family lineage headed by YZD's grandson Yang Jun. Some other changes: Pauses are used for the sake of visual coherency, rather than fade-outs, indicating where movements (or repetitions of movements) are not shared between different forms. ZMQ's whole form is also included; color inversions indicate movements which only he is practicing in the video at the respective time. About the practitioners: Fu Zhongwen was a close student of Yang Chengfu, and was said to have begun studying with him at the age of 9, and taught Tai Chi until he died, leaving a number of accomplished students behind. Dong Yingjie studied martial arts from an early age, and was close to Yang Luchan's sons and their contemporaries, learning Wu (hao) style from Li Baoyu. He didn't begin learning from YCF until 1926, and also trained with YCF's infamous brother Yang Shaohou. He is also said to have made contact with Chen Fake of Chen Style. Zheng Manqing was a famous student of Yang Chengfu, known for creating the popular short 37-form, and being among the first to popularize Tai Chi in the USA. He is noted for being charismatic and emphasizing elements of Chinese culture alongside Tai Chi. Yang Shouzhong was the first son of YCF and learned from him since the age of 8. He fled to Hong Kong in 1949 where he taught privately.
