The song I'm playing is the beautiful "Blindsided" by Bon Iver - really great song, great poetic lyrics, very sparse guitar playing. And a great one for a beginner, so you've been playing 4 or 5 months. marching pace If you go to my website, which is learnguitarinlondon.com, I will have the tab up there, so it's sometimes a little bit easier to read the tab when there's a lot of, sort of, individual notes like that. What I'm doing this time, is instead of strumming down, I'm strumming up. Okay? It gives it this sort of wonderful, sort of magical sound Okay. So you're making a C and then you're sliding that C shape up to the 3rd fret. What you can do is, you can do ghost strums with your right hand. And ghost strums are where you're essentially, yeah just not strumming but you're keeping time with that hand. It's a really good way of keeping tempo.
