The US Army is in a race to develop next generation artillery platforms and munitions. This is the result of a classified creatively named “tactical fires study” that was conducted over the past two years aimed at completely transforming field artillery. This report has not been released to the public yet….But I was able to do some defense detective work. I pieced together a lot of what the plan is based on comments we’ll hear from the army brass, and by looking at where the resources are being invested and divested.
