17-year-old Divya Deshmukh played a phenomenal Tata Steel Chess India Rapid 2023 to become the champion with a score of 7.0/9 and ahead of players like Ju Wenjun, Humpy, Harika and many others. Divya performed at an Elo of 2618 and gained 181 Elo points, reaching a live rapid rating of 2400 Elo. Divya scored wins over Harika, Vantika, Humpy, Savitha, Krush and Batsiashvili to win the event half a point ahead of the current world champion Ju Wenjun.
