How Are Real Kelaghayi Made? Traditional Azerbaijani women's headgear - UNESCO Cultural Heritage

“Azerbaijan Kelagayi” started its activity in 2015 as a national brand of Azerbaijan. Kalaghayi, a national women’s silk scarf has been produced in Azerbaijan for over three centuries and is a deep philosophy of the Azerbaijani people. In 2014, the art of Azerbaijani kalaghayi, which is an important and significant part of the cultural heritage of the Azerbaijani people, was included in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO. The main goal of the national brand “Azerbaijan Kelagayi” is the promotion of Azerbaijani kelagayi, which is our national value, into the world. The national brand was created with the idea to help local consumers and kalaghayi making craftsmen and it was awarded the title of winner by “Azerbaijan International Gifts and Promotional Products Fair” in 2018.
