Fancy Pants | KLIM BADLANDS PRO ADV PANTS REVIEW

Factoring in my limited experience in the "Adventure Riding" category, this quick video covers my thoughts on a recent ride where I got to wear some pretty flashy Klim Badlands Pro pants that are targeted specifically at the adventure rider market. Woohoo! If you've owned Klim gear before then you'll already know that their products are up at the pointy end of the moto world as far as design, materials, features and quality go. Are they pricey? They can be, however ask yourself this: What dollar value do you have on your leg skin? I don't know what sort of money skin grafts go for these days, but I know which option I'd prefer. I don't have anything negative to say about the Klim Badlands Pro pants I got to wear, try as I might - a pleasant change as I am pretty fussy regarding pants fitment. I was able to adjust them up really well including fitment around my bulky Leatt X-frame braces and full sized enduro boots, and I also got a nice snug fit around the waist too. Plenty of room to grow into, with all the coffee stops adventure riders are known to want. The pants worked well in the warmer parts of the ride (love those vents!) and I was able to close off all of the vents when the weather decided to turn crappy and cold on us too. I usually get pretty hot with heavier pants like this, but not once did I break a sweat while wearing them as they breathe so well. I decided to take a risk and store my phone and wallet in the zippered pockets on each leg, thankfully they remained there for the whole trip - the zips didn't move at all (YKK zippers). Win! By all reports, Klim riding gear holds up really well over time. Pants like the Badlands Pro will be no different here, so for the budget conscious rider it would even pay to hunt around and pick up some pre-loved gear.
