Comforting because you always have someone to help you know where to go when you're confused and frustrating because it feels like they'll always outshine you. However, after spending tons of time in the shadow of another, you can't help but hesitate when it's finally your turn to take the lead. I guess that's just part of who we are as humans: so prone to desire more yet so unsure of how to utilize what we have or have gained. However, though, that's where the gospel comes in. Because Christ set us free from our sins when we were both unwilling and unable to do so ourselves, in a sense, we're not even the main characters of our own stories (or at least not the heroes). Those of us who are him are constantly following in Christ's example. Even so, He's there to guide us through the confusing paths of life and give us the strength to make God-honoring choices.
