An Early Tapeless Camcorder - JVC Everio GZ-MG20U

In this video in my show and tell series, I'm featuring the JVC Everio GZ-MG20U which is an early tapeless camcorder that uses an internal hard drive and an external SD card as storage. It came out in August 2005 and I got it at Goodwill for $8.50 USD. It even came with a bonus 128MB SD card by SanDisk. While it stores is images as JPEG files, it stores its videos as MOD files, but they're not the MOD files that are used for music made with ProTracker. They're an obscure video file type. For standard 4:3 videos, you can just rename the extensions from "MOD" to "MPG" but for widescreen videos, you have to use a program called SDCopy to convert the videos to widescreen. I personally prefer recording videos and pictures to the SD card on that camcorder because even though the maximum supported capacity for SD cards on it is less than its hard drive's capacity, it's more convenient.
