In this video I'll be harvesting pepper seeds from a variety of peppers, picked at different points in their life cycle. I'll be attempting to germinate the seeds of each pepper, to highlight for us what the best way to harvest peppers for seed is. I'll be doing this with snack bell peppers, but these principles will apply to nearly all pepper species- including chilies, jalapenos, ghost peppers, etc. Most peppers are juicy and delicious well before they are fully ripe, so it is common for people to harvest peppers earlier than they should. As we will see, timing your harvests is especially important when looking to save seed from peppers. Saving seeds is an excellent way to get more value from your garden, and keep your favorite plant's genetics alive.
