In 2017 the US Army put the word out that they wanted a modern Sub Compact Weapon (SCW), and B&T answered the call along with a number of other big names in the industry. When after two years the multitude of contract submissions were reduced to five finalists; two of which were variants of the B&T APC9 Pro. Finally, in 2019 the APC9K Pro was selected as the new US Army SCW. Soon after the Army got what they wanted, the Air Force wanted one too. Then DHS wanted some for their purposes, and now they are everywhere! What makes this SCW so special?
