🔴Almost light system - The very easy way [GameMaker | Vfx]

This basics video tutorial shows you how to create an almost light system in GameMaker in a few minutes. The idea is quite easy. You want to enhance your game by light but want to make it without much hassle. You can have an alternative way where you tint all layers below with the tint fx. Then you place on one instance layer all your light instances. To this layer you set a blendmode fx with the blendmode add which looks smoother then the default one. Also you ajust the image_alpha of the light instances until the mix of light and the tint look good. Optionally you can also fluctuate all light instances by changing the image_xscale/image_yscale constantly to give the light a bit more realistic flicker. That's it! Trivia: The default (and more complictated) way to create is to not do additive blending but create a surface, draw a black transparent rectangle and poke through it with light drawing which "erases" parts of the black surface/black rectangle.
