GUITAR WOLF - CBGBでのギターウルフライブ (PART 1) 02/28/2005

GUITAR WOLF LIVE AT CBGBs CBGB's February 28th, 2005 (Part One) Guitar Wolf is one of the original garage punk rock bands to emerge from Japan. The trio - which consists of guitarist Seiji, bassist Billy and drummer Toru- formed in 1987 along with groups like 5.6.7.8's, Teengenerate, and Mad 3. They strongly believe that the essence of their style originates from the pure fundamentals of rock'n'roll. It is quite evident when you see Guitar Wolf's 50's Rock'n'Roll appearances. Another reason why Guitar Wolf has come this far is due to their charismatic performances. Their shows are always loud, chaotic, but at the same time humorous and always unpredictable. Guitar Wolf's first album "Wolf Rock" (which came out on vinyl only) was released in 1993 from an indie label, Goner Records, in the U.S. The response to their 2nd full length album" Kung-Fu Ramone" was unbelievable and the majority of the Japanese media considered Guitar Wolf the best new band that year. In 1996, Guitar Wolf signed with Matador Records in the U.S., and released their third full length album "Missile Me". In 1997, their fourth album "Planet of the Wolves" was released from Sony Music in Japan and Matador in the U.S.& Europe. Their fifth full album "Jet Generation" was released in Japan early 1999, followed by the Matador's release in the U.S., Europe, Australia and Brazil on Trama. The sixth album "Rock'n'Roll Etiquette", the seventh album "Live!" were released consecutively in February and in June, 2000 in Japan. After signing with Narnack records in late 2002 "UFO Romantics," (their first US release in nearly four years) was released in Feb 2003, and from the looks of things, it was a long overdue surprise for their loyal fans. August 2004, Loverock an album of all new material was unleashed to critical acclaim. Voted best album of 2004 by many, there was no doubt, the band was as popular as ever & planned a full US tour for early 2005. Narnack followed Loverock with the re-issue of RnR Etiquette (which includes an extra track, 2 re-mixed songs and all remastered by the Head Wolf, Seiji) in Oct 2004. RIP Bass Wolf(Billy) ( P) Narnack Records
