The lyrics and music of these folk songs were inspired by the traditions and culture of different indigenous tribal groups of Odisha. Now, we are presenting a set of folk songs from coastal and rural belts of Odisha motivated by traditions, beliefs and ways of life having typical rendition styles and using conventional musical instruments. The album is titled “Kain Phoola Beni" which manifests the braid of the Mother Goddess of Village bejewelled by Lilies. Every song on this album is just like a divine lily embroidered in one braid. Geet Kudia (Madali) Geet Kudia is a form of evening entertainment for farmers who work tirelessly all day. Singers (Geet Kudias) compose the songs on the spot and the lyrics are inspired by various farming techniques, farm equipment etc. Earlier sowing of paddy used to be a time-consuming process. So, after sowing paddy in the fields, the equipment used in farming such as Nangala, Tangia, Kotua, Small fishing net, Daandar, Kodi, and Rafa become a source of entertainment for farmers. They even sing these songs while working in fields daily to derive energy and rejuvenation.
