The HBO Chernobyl show is incredible and so is the Oppenheimer trailer, it felt perfect with Oppenheimer being somewhat of a spiritual prequel to Chernobyl (Oppenheimer is about the creation and fallout of the atomic bomb, Chernobyl is about the fallout of a soviet nuclear catastrophe). There's also a tone of existential dread that I find very befitting about both properties. To anyone who doesn't know, I assemble the audio first before I even start editing footage, and I was really surprised how cleanly the dialogue fed into the intent of the original trailer. it worked out wonderfully. Also... my god the performances in this show are incredible. Stellan Skarsgård steals every scene he's in. There were plenty of edits I loved doing, including the shots at the fireman funeral. Though my favorite is probably when we see the meter at 2:05 and the number rises in perfect sync with the beat. I didn't even do that, it was already like that in the show and I just lined them up. I also really enjoyed working with the font and creating that glitching red line effect. Anyways please comment if you liked the video.
