Artwork by Take Me Back Pirate Radio Archives. Rest In Power DJ Randall. You're deeply missed! A big shout to Matthew Wharmby for this epic legacy set. Eruption FM was closely associated to the rave night Elevation and would broadcast their events live on air. This is a live recording of Life Utopia & Elevation: Together '94 @Sanctuary Warehouse (The Sanctuary, Milton Keynes), on Sat 28th May 1994 (Bank Holiday weekend), 9pm - 7am. The line up to the event included, in the main arena playing all types of Hardcore music: DJ Randall, DJ Slipmatt, DJ Mickey Finn, DJ Rap, DJ Hype, DJ Andy C, DJ Dougal, DJ Jumping Jack Frost, DJ Food Junkie, Demolition Cru, with MCs: MC MC, MC Stevie Hyper D, and MC GQ. In second room they played House music played by: Steve Jackson, Matt Jam Lamont, Funky Flirt, and Richie Fingers. Interestingly this set showed the division with the Hardcore scene and different genres began to materialise with Happy Hardcore and Jungle Hardcore branching off. This event made an effort to bring the genres together hence why the slogan "Together '94" came about. Eruption FM 101.3 began broadcasting from east London, in 1993, as pirate radio station playing Hardcore and Jungle music. They also promoted rave nights like: Dance Explosion @Astoria, Charing Cross Rd London WC2. Another roadblock event was Underground Alliance, 'Kin Hardcore and Elevation (Roller Express). One stand out event was Eruption 101.3FM 3rd Birthday Party 1996 @Club UN, High Road, Tottenham, London N17. Also, Global Explosion @Club UN, Arena Two: Dream FM Vs Eruption FM, Sat 6th Jan 1996. Some of the scene's most revered DJs and producers played sets on Eruption from: DJ Zinc (Bingo Beats, Ganja Records, True Playaz & Frontline Records), DJ Clarky (Metalheadz), DJ Nicky Black Market, DJ Rap (Proper Talent), DJ Ash A Tack (Ash Attack, Black Market Records), Rave Brothers (DJ Exorcist & DJ Transit), DJ Model, DJ Spinback, DJ Vinyltrixta, DJ Crossfader, DJ Connie Con, DJ Devaste, DJ Altitude, DJ Protocol, DJ Kat, DJ Sweet, DJ Clockwork, Demolition Cru (DJ Rough & DJ Outrage), T.Tenners (Rikka Jam Records), M6 Crew (DJ Cuckoo & DJ Marvellous Cain), DJ Joe 90, DJ Flame, DJ Johnny B, DJ Love Dove Jay (aka Plasma), DJ Stranger, DJ Asterix, DJ Squirrel (Raindance), DJ Rambler, DJ Paris, DJ Scott Free, DJ Dark Noise, DJ Dilation, MC Carnage, DJ Andy Lewis, DJ Justice, DJ Marley, DJ Buzby, DJ Psycho D, DJ Redley, DJ Skie, Cris E Manic, DJ Butterfly, MC MC (Helter Skelter), MC Rage, MC Sticks, MC DT ("Do You Really Like It"- Pied Piper & The Masters of Ceremonies), MC R.J. Vibes, MC A.D., MC Fiaz, MC Anarchy, and many more. The station was closely associated with the Hardcore/Jungle mega rave "Elevation" which booked many of the Eruption DJs and MCs for its lineups. Out to the Hardcore ravers and connoisseurs that reached down "Elevation" raves at, venues like Roller Express, Camden Palace, The Wonderland Arena (Lea Bridge Rd, London E5), The Paradise Club (Islington, London N1), The Powerdome (Waterden Rd, Stratford E15), Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, Astoria, Busbys, Shaftesburys, Wembley Entertainment Centre, and many other epic venues throughout the 90s. Even after the station went off air, the Eruption FM crew continued to run a Drum & Bass event called "Eruption" @Club Fusion (Woolwich, London SE18), Sat 11 Oct 2003. In 2019, Eruption made a comeback as a digital radio platform broadcast online via: https://www.eruptionradio.uk. Out to all the London FM pirates of the past.
