Adventuring Party: "Um, Actually!" Edition

A bunch of funny nerds (Hank Green, Freddie Wong, Siobhan Thompson, Mike Trapp, Danielle Radford, Alex Song-Xia, and Brennan Lee Mulligan) share their wide variety of randoms bits of knowledge following Hank's snake fact shared by The Fix in the first episode of Dimension 20: Mentopolis. They dive into: cookie lore, marsupial reproductive systems, and the history of penicillin and key lime pie. Fact-Checked Sources: (preamble: I, with no personal association to Dropout or the performers in this episode, curated this list myself, and is not an exhaustive list of sources, nor does it necessarily reflect the information shared in this clip. I just did my best to compile what I could find on the topics discussed. I could not find any accessible article referencing the John Dee anecdote Brennan mentioned -- just a bunch of math bros celebrating his role in colonization. If anyone knows of a good source for this, let me know, and I can include it in these footnotes. Also, I am not including any articles relating to snake or marsupial reproductive organs because I did not want to research that myself, so I'm just going to take their word for it). 00:38 - Formation of the Moon https://www.nhm.ac.uk/discover/how-di... https://www.nasa.gov/feature/ames/lun... https://news.uchicago.edu/explainer/f.... 04:18 - Pythagoras, his cult, and Hippasus (This is hotly debated due to a lack of clear evidence for this time in history) https://sciencefocus.ust.hk/the-squar... https://esoterx.com/2014/12/03/murder... https://www.scienceabc.com/pure-scien... I embellished some moments with extra editing choices of my own that do not necessarily reflect Dropout's intended direction for their final product. The actual final production hosted on dropout.tv is brilliant, and I only intend to share the joy I experienced in these clips.
