This and the also-posted flip side “Bill” were songs performed by Morgan in the original 1927 Broadway production of “Show Boat,” with music by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II. She reprised them in the 1932 Broadway revival, at which time she also recorded new versions for the Brunswick label (reissued over the years on Columbia), conducted by Victor Young.
