It reached No. 3 in the US & Canadian charts, and No. 20 in the UK chart. Lead singer Paul Carrack composed the song upon discovering that bassist Terry Comer had been secretly working with other bands. Paul Later went on to form 'Mike & The Mechanics' and have another big hit with "Looking Back Over My Shoulder". At the time there was a burgeoning trend by what would otherwise be traditionally white looking rock bands to create music that took inspiration from other, more underground genres of music like - Funk, Disco & Soul, yet still classically fused with some milder element Rock from their guitars or drumming pattern style. Back then, some called it the "West Coast" sound or "Cali Rock" and it usually got thrown into 'Soft Rock' charts. It bizarrely only got the given the genre name of "Yacht Rock" by 2005 TV show documenting the 'Soft Rock" music of this era, staring the likes of The Doobie Brothers, Hall & Oats and Steely Dan.
