I traveled to Penzance Station first, and then on to Carbis Bay. If you're looking to explore the charming villages around Cornwall, taking the train is a great and affordable option. GWR offers reasonable prices and a regular timetable. To reach Land's End from St Ives, you can take a bus, although the journey takes about two hours. After visiting Land's End, I recommend checking out St Michael's Mount in Marazion. Then, you can head back to your hotel in St Ives or Carbis Bay.
