An advanced high-performance mobile suit developed by the Kingdom of Foundation using ZAFT technology. It utilizes many advanced technologies, such as the new Femto Technology Armor to defend against beam weaponry. It uses a two-seat tandem cockpit arrangement with the pilot at the front, and the rear gunner controlling the suit's weapons. The Cal-re.A is heavily inspired by the ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam, and mirrors many of the latter mobile suit's abilities. In C.E.75 The Cal.re-A was deployed at the height of the Foundation Conflict. It was piloted by Orphee Lam Tao and Ingrid Tradoll, and escorted by several AMO-01 Ziggurat to fight Kira Yamato and his ZGMF/A-262B Strike Freedom Gundam Type II.
