Thunder Down Under: Ford Vs Holden Nationals Drag Racing Highlights and Victories

Unleash the horsepower Down Under! Join us for the adrenaline-fueled showdown at the Ford Vs Holden Nationals held at Heathcote Park Raceway. The sun was shining, the engines were roaring, and over 150 racers descended upon the track for a day of intense drag racing action between the giants, General Motors Holden and Ford Motor Company. From the thundering Nitrous 6L VL to the Turbo Barra Cortina, watch as competitors tear up the track in various classes, including the fierce Aspirated Assassins and Boosted classes. The 6-cylinder class, 235/255 Tyre size class, 275 Radial class, and Big Tyre class went head-to-head in thrilling 1/8 mile heads-up and 14 mile DYO battles. Witness the triumphs and heart-stopping moments as winners emerge in each category. In the Hurricane Automotive Products Sponsored "Boosted Class," Mason Taylor's Nitrous 6L VL took home the gold, while the Joel's Garage Gear sponsored "Aspirated Assassins" Class saw Pat Caruso's 400ci SBC Holden Gemini claim victory. The Pulsar Turbo Australia Sponsored "6cyl Class" was dominated by George Lyras in the Turbo Barra Cortina, and in the EPIC parts sponsored 235/255 Tire Class, Brendon Fooks' Turbo LS VH SLE came out on top. Steve Athens blazed a trail in the Burson Autoparts Ballarat & Bendigo Sponsored "Big Tyre Class" with his TT BBC Mustang, and Luke Foley conquered the Pro Street Radials x275 Class with his TT LS VH SLE. Mark Drew's Krusty Torana clinched the "Fastest 275 Radial" pass, clocking an incredible 7.37 @192mph, earning him a well-deserved cash prize. Special shoutout to the winners of the additional awards: Wildest Pass (Burko Torana Wheelstand), Promoters choice (Jack Habib XR Falcon), Furtherest Travelled (Jason Waye - foxsake), Fastest Pass (Steve Athens 4.51 @168mph), Biggest Burnout (George Hatzi), and Fastest 6cyl (George Lyras 8.28). A huge thanks to all participants, sponsors like Hurricane Automotive Products, Joel's Garage Gear, Pulsar Turbo Australia, EPIC parts, Burson Autoparts Ballarat & Bendigo, and special mentions to Shane at Marshall Speed Shop and Speedpro for their contributions. Congratulations to all the winners and competitors who made this day of drag racing Down Under one for the books! 🏁 #FordVsHoldenNationals #DragRacingAustralia #HighOctaneAction
