"A Simple Gesture" featuring Moog Matriarch and Make Noise Morphagene w evolving sequence by Bloom

More adventures with modular and semi-modular synths. I built this patch and song at the same time around the Matriarch sequence I programmed (watch my previous video "We Had An Understanding" which was from 2 days earlier for a related piece). This starts out with the Make Noise Morphagene playing back a 20 second sample I made for the song using Output Analog Strings, Output Exhale, and Native Instruments Straylight recorded into Pro Tools, then recorded in Morphagene. For the main Matriarch tone, I'm using all 4 oscillators set to a square wave with some slow pulse width modulation from itself. You'll see me bring in the oscillators one at a time to form a 4 note chord, tracking with a single note because the paraphony voice mode is set to single. From there I introduce the Qu-Bit Bloom, playing an evolving sequence into the 0-Coast, which is in turn run into the Strymon Magneto. You might notice that I mounted the 0-Coast inside my Eurorack skiff, which turned out pretty cool. Tempi gets unmuted and starts that sequence. Then I open the filter and decay on the Mother 32 and that sequence establishes the groove along with Bloom. I start playing some held arpeggios on the Grandmother and unmute Maschine, playing some occasional fills. Clock is coming from Pro Tools and everything is recorded into it. This was a fun song and patch but took me an extra long time to get a decent performance, mostly due to operator error but also the Matriarch would tend to start a 16th note late or too soon so I had to master that timing. Here's the one I finally got happy with. Hope you enjoy and please comment and like if you do, and subscribe to my channel if you're enjoying these. I'll be putting more out like this as I'm learning and also some other various music vids. You can also find other music I've released in all the usual places. Thank you for listening!
