In Hopkins' 4th game of the 2015-16 season, Elk River lost to Hopkins 78-62. The game is remembered though as Paige Bueckers' highest scoring game of her first season as a varsity player. Paige came off the bench that game to shoot 6 for 7 from three totaling 22 points on the game. Bueckers would score a total of 277 points in her 8th grade season averaging 9 points a game while shooting 46/98 for 47% from three. That season Paige averaged 2 assist per game. In this game, Ashley Bates #14 for Hopkins would score 14 points. Bates is the older sister of current Hopkins player, Alicia Bates. Bates went on to play at Hampton and was The Big South Conference's player of the year in 2019. #12 Nia Hollie for Hopkins would score 11 points and 7 assists in this game. Hollie would win the Minnesota Miss Basketball award in 2016 and play her college basketball at Michigan State. For Elk River, #32 Gabi Haack would score 16 points in this game and was the 2017 Miss Basketball and played her college basketball at Bradley while #44 Abi Scheid had 19 points and 14 rebounds. Scheid would go on to lead Northwestern to their 2019 Big Ten Championship.
