In November 2022, I had the privilege of traveling to Romania and Bulgaria. I booked this trip about 1.5 weeks in advance of my departure and had little idea about what to expect. While I liked Bucharest, I wanted to branch out and explore the greater region. Ruse is the closest foreign city to Bucharest, so off I went. Join me on this journey riding on a Siemens Desiro train operated by Romanian passenger train carrier CFR Călători from that country's busiest train station, Bucharest North, to Ruse, which is Bulgaria's fifth-largest city.
