Film Screening and Debate | Massaker

22 June 2021 | After the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982, Massaker documents the executions carried out at the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps during the Lebanese civil war in a radical manner. Filmed 20 years after the tragic events, it portrays the testimonies of six Maronite militiamen who participated in the massacre. The documentary, produced by Lokman Slim and Monika Borgmann, has won several awards at various cinematic festivals, including Visions du réel in Nyon. Panel discussion moderated by Professor Riccardo Bocco of the Graduate Institute and Jean Perret, and in the presence of Monika Borgmann. This event was organised in collaboration with the International Oriental Film Festival of Geneva and UMAN Lebanon Association and its Swiss branch.
