The storm has passed and the rain has stopped, but there are still puddles of water on the road as we start our drive in De Berry going south on US Highway 79 until we reach Carthage, Texas. We will drive into De Berry, an unincorporated community in Panola County, and stop at the traffic light with Texas Highway 31. We will continue south on US 79 and the further south we go, the brighter the sky will become and we pass by quite a few homes and county roads. There will be a sign for a public boat ramp before we cross over the Sabine River and we will also cross over some of the streams that connect to the river as well as we drive south. We will pass by the Panola County Airport and will end our drive at the Carthage city limits sign. Carthage is the county seat of Panola County and has around 6500 residents.
