The Feit Dimmer Switch is a smart light switch that can be used in either single pole or 3 way light switch configurations. The Feit smart dimmer switch is unique in that it can be used as a standard switch to control one set of lights or light fixtures from one light switch, it can also be used as part of a 3 way configuration where the two switches control 1 set of light fixtures from two locations as is typically found at 3 way switches that are installed at stairways. We purchased this Feit Smart Dimmer Switch from Costco, however it is also available online at Amazon. When installed in a 3 way smart dimmer configuration it can be either wired up with 2 Feit Smart Dimmers as part of the 3 way switch or it can be wired up with 1 Feit Smart Dimmer on one side of the 3 way switch and a standard single pole (non smart) or 3 way switch (non smart) at the other switch location. The advantage of using 2 Feit Smart Dimmers in the 3 way switch configuration is that you will be able to control dimming from each location. If you only use one Feit Smart Dimmer switch in the 3 way configuration you will only be able to adjust the dimming from the smart switch, or remotely from your phone but the other switch in the 3 way switch configuration will only allow you to turn on and off the switch without dimming adjustment. Feit Smart Dimmer switch allows you to remotely control your lighting from your phone using the Feit app. Once your light switches are connected to the Feit app you can turn on and off your lights remotely or remotely adjust the dimming levels. The Feit Smart Dimmer is also compatible with Google Home and Alexa voice assistants. When you connect the Feit 3 Way Smart Dimmer to Alexa or Google Home you can then control the 3 way dimmer switch with your voice. The Feit 3 Way Smart Dimmer Switch does require a neutral wire for installation but only at the location of the smart dimmer. If you are using it in a 3 way smart light switch application the Fiet smart dimmer will be wired to a neutral wire but the other standard 3 way switch (non smart) or single pole (non smart) switch does not require a neutral wire when wired in the configuration we show in the video. To install a Feit 3 Way Smart Dimmer Switch you will need to confirm how your existing 3 way light switch is wired as they can be wired up in multiple configurations. In this video we show one common type of 3 way light switch configuration for installation of the the Feit Smart Dimmer.
