In this episode we're talking a look at the very rare sorcery of the Koldun, trying to present both the real life practices which inspired the game, and the way these were transformed into lore and mechanics, while attempting to answer the question: "Is Koldunism infernal or demonic in essence?" As expected, the answer was lost to the tides of time and the machinations of certain Old Country fiends... Koldunism is, sadly, one of the sorceries that is barely present the setting, let alone individual chronicles and games, with lore and rules varying not only from edition to edition, but from book to book. Oddly enough, this does reflect the ambivalent perceptions people have regarding the real life practice of Koldunism, however, within the game, simply deeming this sorcery and rituals to be infernal... pretty much ensures most players won't get the opportunity to try it or (or won't go near it), which really is a shame. This is whyI really like the less popular (but considerably more open) version of the lore: that Koldunism is simply elemental/spirit magic, that varies from region to region, though masters of this form of sorcery are feared by, and can bind, demons.
