Thoma is one of my favourite four stars in Genshin, and — just like Layla — he’s seriously underrated. When talking about the story he’s often dismissed as a friendly but ultimately inconsequential sidekick, yet without his help, the Traveler would not have survived their first encounter with the Shogun. In combat he gets pushed to the side due to his support role, and his badly misunderstood kit. Since the release of Dendro he at least gained some appreciation as a brilliant Burgeon trigger, but he has always been more valuable than people realised.
