Lord of the Dance: 25 Years of Standing Ovations -- Warriors (featuring ZOLTAN PAPP)

May 16th is Senior Dance Captain Zoltan Papp's birthday. To celebrate, we're releasing a hot new #LOTD25 video: Warriors, featuring Zoltan as the Dark Lord in full attack mode. Zoltan's story is frankly unbelievable. Born and raised in Hungary, he didn't start training in #IrishDance until he was in his early twenties. By then, he'd already cross-trained in several other forms of dance -- Latin, ballroom, hip-hop, etc. -- before seeing videos of Michael Flatley performing and taking up #IrishDancing -- a task which, in Hungary at the time, was incredibly challenging. Zoltan never engaged in competition Irish dancing. He's never been to a feis. He has no Irish blood in him at all. And, at 43, he's throwing down moves dancers half his age wouldn't even attempt. To put things in perspective, Zoltan's first performance in a Michael Flatley show was *Celtic Tiger*. (Remember the hip-hop dancer in the red ballcap?) If the minimum age to be a professional Irish dancer is 18, Zoltan was literally performing Irish dancing in stadiums to over 100,000 people before today's competition hopefuls on the cusp of turning pro were even born. You know that "Chuck Norris Facts" meme? You could realistically apply that list to Zoltan. Let's put it to you this way: Michael Flatley refers to Zoltan Papp simply as "the Master". If you choose to believe in a higher power -- even if that higher power is simply the universe itself -- then to be in Zoltan's presence is to get the overwhelming feeling that the universe put Zoltan on this planet to dance. He literally embodies Michael Flatley's ethos: if you have a dream, and you're willing to work for that dream, nothing is impossible. To be the senior dance captain and fitness sergeant for Lord of the Dance, the biggest-selling dance show of all time, requires a level of singleminded focus that the rest of us simply can't match. Heck, Zoltan's name is practically a verb: * Should you eat the healthy food? ZOLTAN. * Should you work out at the gym? ZOLTAN. * Should you drill those dance movements again? ZOLTAN. If you are ever in need of motivation, the look in Zoltan's eyes will punch your brain in the face. And as the Dark Lord, the intensity of his dancing demands you pay attention. Zoltan's interpretation of Don Dorcha is pure bugnuts insanity: if Kefka from Final Fantasy VI was an Irish dancer, he'd be played by Zoltan. For those of you who have followed #LordOfTheDance social media for a while, you got your first really good look at Zoltan in the Impossible Tour video last year; if you're new to Team Lord social media, then this will be your first good look at him on tape. Either way, buckle up -- you're in for one hell of a ride. We have said this before and we will say it again: if your shortlist of the most exciting professional Irish dancers on the planet doesn't include a 43-year-old Hungarian with no competition dancing experience, then your list is wrong. Change it. Planet Ireland arises! Tickets on sale now to Lord of the Dance's 25th anniversary show, 25 YEARS OF STANDING OVATIONS. See the classic magic -- with a new generation.
