What notes are good to bend in Pentatonic? // Bend Points Lesson

I'll teach you which are the good notes to bend in all 5 patterns of Minor Pentatonic and Major pentatonic in this guitar lesson all about Pentatonic Bend Points. With Tab! So, where do you bend in pentatonic? There are some conventional bends in minor pentonic and major pentatonic, and today I will show you (with Tablature) all the 5 patterns of both key centers, and walk through the typical bends in all 5 shapes. These are tried and true bends, and they will work in the blues, in country, and pop. In general, when you bend, what you are doing is changing the pitch of a note from one note in your scale, to another note in your scale. Most of the bends in this video or whole step bends (that's equivalent to two frets, or two half steps). Don't forget, this is just one element to sounding good on the guitar. It's also really important learn some general minor blues blues, and general major licks or country style licks. This will make you a well rounded player. If you don't know any licks, then check out these two videos: Major Pentatonic Bending Licks:    • Pedal Steel Licks Guitar Tutorial!   Minor Pentatonic Bending Licks:    • Minor Pentatonic Licks in EVERY Pattern!   0:00 What is a bend? (Beginners) 1:02 How to improve quality of your bends 1:40 Minor Pentatonic Bend Points 4:43 Major Pentatonic Bend Points 6:54 Why don't I want to make up my own bends? This video covers the ways to improve your bends, tips for increasing accuracy in your bends, and increasing your strength and endurance for your bends. I encourage you to do your own thing, and do it your way, but certain things, like bending the root in a blues, might sound a little strange, a little unconventional. That is why it wouldn't be a bad idea to learn it the way other people do it, before you start making up your own style of playing guitar. I know there's a few places where I left out a b3, or it seems like I missed a note. But the reason is because of the fingering. I only highlighted common notes, that work, and I didn't want to get too deep into the music theory. I wanted to make this guitar lesson a simple point of reference for you to find easy, quality bends, for major and minor pentatonics, for beginners and advanced players. https://www.TravisRaab.com Studio Guitarist & Virtual Guitar Teacher Facebook:   / travisraabguitarlessons   Instagram:   / travisraab
