This has been a project my team and I have been working on for quite some time, as you all know. Our entire team invested a ton of time in order to present the concept of Competition Heeling in a way that is easy to understand, apply, and most importantly allows you to have fun with your dog. Our focus in teaching this behavior is, not mainly in building the motor skills and proficiency in the behavior, but we place the highest emphasis in our interaction with our dogs. The idea is not only to teach the dog how to do it, but also to allow the dog to express themselves and do it in their own special way. Our ultimate goal is to allow the dog to add its own flavor into each behavior and show who they are as they perform.
