You must be playing as the required character to unlock the weapon. You can only have 1 of the unique weapons. The audio messed up again this battle. This happened before in the Taishi Ci video, which was in this same stage. I must just have bad luck in this battle or something. Well, I can't be bothered to fix it since this is too easy to really warrant a new video to show what to do.
