Around half a dozen Secret Service Agents surrounded Trump as the first few shots rang out. The former president kneeled behind the podium. When he re-emerged, he was spotted with a bloodied ear and blood-smeared face. Trump then raised his fist to the crowd as panic turned into cheers. The FBI has identified 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks as the shooter and he was killed by the Secret Service seconds after he opened fire. Now, the Pennsylvania rally venue is an active crime scene with an investigation underway. The assassination attempt on Donald Trump has opened a dark chapter in America's history of political violence.
