Qodosen SR-286 vs Sangean PR-D4W on two distant MW signals

The Qodosen SR-286 and the Sangean PR-D4W are, I would say, among the best portables radios available right now for MW listening. This video compares these two MW giants against one another on two distant MW signals. You can hear radio Free Africa from Tanzania, 2800 km from my location in Johannesburg, South Africa, as well as Malawi Broadcasting Corporation Radio 1 from Matiya, Malawi. It is a distance of 1400 km, from a 10 kW transmitter. I was a bit surprised by the result. Both radios pick up the signals well, using only their internal ferrite antennas. But the Sangean is quite a bit more noisy. I think its bigger ferrite antenna also picks up more noise, while the Qodosen seems to reduce the noise somehow. I turned off all electricity in my house while making this video, but, of course, there is also RFI from neighbouring homes. Still, I think both these radios are great, they are very sensitive indeed. I am very happy with the performance.
