Bawneet Singh is an international student among thousands of others, who describes the hoops and hurdles of being an international student in his talk. Bawneet puts emphasis on the unspoken struggles of an international student and how he managed to shift his perspective - a paradigm shift to transform his challenges into strength. He shares how he is actively involved on campus in multiple leadership roles through which he continues to inspire other international students to gaze upon the silver lining of their experience. Bawneet Singh is a University of Guelph undergraduate student and an international student who traveled to Canada as a young man to study computer engineering. Despite being in a new country and culture, he has become a prominent leader in the university community as a residence assistant, social media ambassador, and residence student council leader. His work has helped other students, both foreign and domestic, feel welcome and engaged with their community.
