Last but certainly not least. A perfect backcountry book end to complete my last year of living in the "Land of Enchantment". This may be my last adventure in New Mexico, but this will be the first official backpacking trip of the year. My buddy Matt and I were hoping to make the third time the charm and really go big with this one. With limited information and skeptical articles from yesteryear we decided to take the risk and chase the biggest brown trout in the Gila. Guarded by an absolutely hellish hike in, these fish are not seeing many flies throughout the year. Full of unknowns but prepared to the teeth, we set out and found a backcountry adventurers oasis.
